Bernard William Kowalski

Age 93, of Romeoville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Angeline (nee Sliwa) Kowalski; his devoted wife, Bridget Kowalski (nee Ramirez); and his children, Sandra Castellano, Dennis Santiago, and Michael Santiago.

He is survived by his children, Richard Santiago, Judy Naujokas, and Irene Santiago Bruner, along with many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later worked as a Civil Engineer for the State of Illinois until retirement. Bernard was also a loyal Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan who enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams throughout the years.

Bernard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

Bernard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
