With her love of Memorial Day, it is only appropriate that, Marietta "Lynn" Larkin passed away this Memorial Day on May 29, 2017. She was born in North Platte, NE on November 21, 1944 to Roy and Ellamae (Glascock) Adams. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in Ottumwa, IA in 1962 and then attended Central Missouri State University. Lynn had many careers in her lifetime. She was a state award winning journalist for the Hancock County Journal Pilot, the Keokuk Iowa Daily Gate City, and the Pryor Oklahoma Pryor Daily Times. She was Parish Life Coordinator for St Mark's in Pryor, OK and All Saints Church in Keokuk, IA. She was Mayes County Deputy Clerk. She was President of the PYO Board in Pryor, OK, Music Booster President and School Board Member in Warsaw, Illinois, and store manager of Second Hand Prose in the Quincy Public Library in Quincy, IL. She married the love of her life, Michael Richard Larkin, on February 20, 1965 at St Patrick's Church in Ottumwa, IA. Michael survives, along with their four children; David (Carol) Larkin of Walnut, IL, Mary Larkin of Hamilton, IL, Joe (Jan) Larkin of St. Ann, MO, and Erin (Brian) Stack of New Lenox, IL; her grandchildren Allison, and Owen Larkin of Walnut, IL, T.J. (Breezy) Taylor of Macomb, IL, Coltin Taylor of Hamilton, IL, Katlyn Larkin of Riverton, WY, Michael Larkin of St. Ann, MO, Colin, Declan and Ean Stack of New Lenox, IL. She is also survived by two brothers, Mike (Sharon) Adams of Greensboro, NC and Tim (Ginny) Adams of Aberdeen, SD; brother-in-law​ and sister-in-law Pat and Geri Larkin of Ottumwa, IA, Lois (Joe deceased) Larkin of Ottumwa, IA, and Beverly (Bill deceased)Larkin of Des Moines, IA; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive. She loved to read and passed that love on to all her family. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed their visits and spending time with them and bragging about them. She also loved her kids and was their supporter, guide, confidant, enforcer, and chief woman behind the scenes. She was loved by all and will be missed by many. She is preceeded in death by her parents, a nephew and two brothers-in-law. She donated her body to science in hopes they can use her body to find a cure for her disease. A Memorial Mass will be said on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Patrick's Church in Ottumwa, IA.
