Age 88, of Lockport, passed away Tuesday, August 6th, 2018 at her home in Lockport.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, children, David (Diana) Bell, Kathleen (Rick) Wood, son-in-law, Fred Doehring, nephews, Dirk Hacker, Jim (Debbie) Bell, grandchildren, David (Tonya) Bell, Deanna (Adam) Anderson, Douglas (fiancée Meghan Lake) Bell, great grandchildren, Ava Anderson, Brady Anderson, Landry Anderson, Knox Anderson, Caleb Bell and Mackenzie Bell.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Christian & Eva Hacker (Feulner), husband, John Bell, daughter, Karen Doehring and brother, Herbert Hacker.

Dorothy was a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Lockport; a dedicated secretary of Homer Consolidated School District 33C and a member of Kings Daughters. She enjoyed baking, reading and spending time with her family. Being a social butterfly came easy to Dorothy; as she loved putting others first in her caring and nurturing way in life.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 9th, 2018 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 925 E. 9th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Interment, Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet IL. Dorothy’s family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to Gerry Williams Pearson, Diane Carey and the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their loving care and compassion shown to Dorothy.
